Welcome to Emmy Season!

Get ready, friends, because yesterday’s announcement of 2013 nominees means that America’s fourth-most-loved awards show is coming up! For clarification purposes, it goes: Oscars, Tonys (Neil Patrick Harris, people), Golden Globes (a dark horse that surged into third place helmed by Tina Fey and Amy Poehler), and then, of course, the Emmys.

It’s not that I have anything against TV. For a person that doesn’t even own a working one, I watch an awful lot of it. Thanks to Netflix, HBOGo, Showtime Anytime, Hulu, and various other unnamed Internet sources, I’ve been able to wrack up television watcher cred by being able to claim shows such as Top of the Lake and Mildred Pierce while still holding the ability to quote every line of evergreen favorite such as Seinfeld and Friends close to my heart.

In short, even though the thought of “Emmy night” doesn’t exactly get my blood pumping, I’m still decidedly a television junkie with strong opinions about who should win awards for what. So, now you’re going to keep reading (please) while I place some bets on this year’s successes in the TV arena.

Disclaimer: I don’t have enough copy to do all the awards so the categories will be all my favorites.
